Founded in 1965, McRae Investments is the family-owned investment and venture capital company created by successful Australian businessman Dr. Harold Clough AO, OBE and his wife Margaret.

Most notably, McRae Investments was from inception the holding company of the prominent and highly-successful Australian engineering company, Clough Limited until its sale to Murray & Roberts in 2005.

McRae Investments is typically represented on the Board of investee companies.

McRae Investments pursues and manages opportunities in identified strategic industries where our team can add value through our combined knowledge, skills and management capabilities.

Investment interests typically range between 25% to 100%, are in developmental stage assets and require strong governance, disciplined operational processes and methods and / or an entrepreneurial approach to extract the greatest value. McRae Investments is comfortable working as an investment partner with approved partners.

Investments in Resources, Operational Businesses, Biotechnology and Property

Resources investments include interests in Oil & Gas (South East Asia and Australia), Iron Ore (Brazil), Coal (Indonesia) and Gold (Brazil).

Operational investments include interests in Australia in Resource Recovery and Waste, Aquaculture and Industrial Services, and in Cambodia in Media.

Biotechnology and medical investments are held in the areas of mental health and tinnitus.

Property investments in Australia include parcels of land earmarked for future development, including for an Agri-Business precinct, industrial properties, residential properties and a cattle station.
